El asentimiento pasivo no es adhesión, solo es eso, pasividad. Resulta curioso, pero cuanto más veo nuestras modernas democracias, más tengo la sensación de que los gobiernos se asientan sobre un asentimiento pasivo más que sobre una adhesión positiva. Eso explica cosas como la baja participación en las elecciones o el hecho de que la gente solo se movilice cuando le afectan directamente sus condiciones de vida. La clave del éxito al final no está en las bayonetas -ya decía Tayllerand a Napoleón que con las bayonetas puedes hacer muchas cosas menos sentarse en ellas- sino en conseguir que el personal te acepte de forma pasiva.
