I don't know if it is material for a debate. Neither I know if it was already the topic. But equally I do ask and do I wonder: what does he/she mean to be a historian?. It is the one that investigates, or the one that publishes, or the one that studies history, or the one that obtains the I title of professor, graduate, master or doctor and it never published anything, etc., etc.. When can one say that a person is a " historian "? -

I am preparing my licentiate thesis in History, but I sit down that when the University grants me an I title, I won't transform, like for magic art, in a " historian ". I think that the historian is made, independent of his studies, but better I listen to them to you that you/they know about this but that me. -

Do I have and do professors that have never written in their long life know neither published anything, didn't they never investigate neither many less conferences have given or something for the style, and did they form me: do I run the risk of ending up being as them?. Are they " historians " for the single fact of having an university student that transforms them in graduates in history title"?.

A great friend and outstanding historian and genealogist in Argentina are... .médico!!!!!, and it is a pleasure to read their works and to know their way to investigate. -

Personally, I like to investigate, to write, to publish, to give conferences, to talk in radio and tv about historical and genealogical topics, to teach (I make all that, although not completely well like he/she wanted). Something in my chest every time that I tell myself trembles": I Love the history and I don't imagine my life without her." And I admit them something: when it is but old that now (I am 26 years old), I would like them to call me " historian ". Is that bad? Is it a lot to request?. If, it is a lot to request. But equally dream with being occupying one day a stage in the National Academy of the History (Argentina). Total, to dream doesn't cost anything. -

Queridos amigos:

No sé si es material para un debate. Tampoco sé si ya se trató el tema. Pero igualmente pregunto y me pregunto: ¿qué significa ser historiador?. Estoy preparando mi tesis de licenciatura en Historia, pero siento que cuando la Universidad me otorgue un titulo, no me voy a transformar, como por arte de magia, en un "historiador". Yo pienso que el historiador se hace, independiente de sus estudios, pero mejor los escucho a ustedes, que de esto saben mas que yo.-

Tengo y conozco profesores que en su larga vida nunca han escrito ni publicado nada, no investigaron nunca ni muchos menos han dado conferencias o algo por el estilo, y ellos me formaron: ¿corro el riesgo de llegar a ser como ellos?. ¿Son ellos "historiadores" por el solo hecho de tener un titulo universitario que los transforma en "licenciados en historia"?.-

Un gran amigo y destacado historiador y genealogista en Argentina es....médico!!!!!, y es un placer leer sus obras y conocer su manera de investigar.-

Personalmente, me gusta investigar, escribir, publicar, dar conferencias, hablar en radio y tv sobre temas historicos y genealogicos, enseñar (hago todo eso, aunque no del todo bien como quisiera). Algo en mi pecho tiembla cada vez que me digo: "Amo la historia y no imagino mi vida sin ella". Y les confieso algo: cuando sea mas viejo que ahora (tengo 26 años), me gustaría que me llamen "historiador". ¿Es malo eso? ¿Es mucho pedir?. Si, es mucho pedir. Pero igualmente sueño con estar ocupando un día un estrado en la Academia Nacional de la Historia (Argentina). Total, soñar no cuesta nada.-
