The plurality of opinions that there are in HaD is one of the qualities that excite to me more; to which I believe that it is good for adding the mutual tolerance that I always warn in the interchanges, therefore one is subjects that mark substantial differences sometimes... Neither it censures - that by the way is outside all possibility or intentionality in HaD, and that is one of the qualities which the more they satisfy in the list nor autocensura me - that either does not seem to exist between the hundreds of friends, and is very good -. As Darwin said to Carlos ³Toda opinion is always in against or in favor of algo². I believe that that idea, that I share, urges the debate, custom that is being lost - at least in my country -. Is certain that it stays in a scope like the one of HaD and HI, which urges to participate to me more intensely, if with himself time (since I cannot extend the day...) Jorge Oriola ++++++++++++++++++ Estimados amigos de HaD y h-debate Es una enorme satisfacción haber encontrado esta forma de contacto con personas interesadas en intercambiar, analizar y debatir diferentes cuestiones, todas realmente sustanciales, en el ámbito de la historia. (Copiando una idea, podemos decir que ³todo es historia².) La pluralidad de opiniones que hay en HaD es una de las cualidades que más me entusiasman; a lo cual creo que es bueno agregar la mutua tolerancia que advierto siempre en los intercambios, así se trate de temas que marcan diferencias a veces sustanciales... Ni censura -que por cierto está fuera de toda posibilidad o intencionalidad en HaD, y esa es una de las cualidades que más me satisfacen en la lista- ni autocensura -que tampoco parece existir entre los centenares de amigos, y es muy bueno-. Como decía Carlos Darwin ³Toda opinión es siempre en contra o a favor de algo². Creo que esa idea, que comparto, incita al debate, costumbre que se está perdiendo -al menos en mi país-. Es cierto que se mantiene en un ámbito como el de HaD e HI, lo cual me incita a participar más intensamente, si consigo tiempo (ya que no puedo alargar el día...) Me parece muy interesante la propuesta de Rafaél Ruiz desde Sao Paulo. Estoy de acuerdo con su excepticismo. Estamos demasiado acostumbrados a resumir con el concepto de "derechos humanos", lo que en realidad no es sino una interpretación de esos derechos desde una óptica occidental y sobre todo poco científica. Por que ¿Qué son los derechos humanos sino los que son inherentes a cada uno de los individuos del género humano? Es decir algo dificilmente codificable y mucho más relacionado con los contextos culturales y sociales (derechos que nos reconocemos unas personas a otras en función de nuestras características sociales, culturales y, sobre todo, de poder). Lo que más me aterra es la capacidad de juzgar, condenar e intervenir que tiene el poder de ese ente tan poco humano llamado, "comunidad internacional". Un ente que mientras argumenta problemas de logística para intervenir en la región de los grandes lagos de África, no dudó en bombardear objetivos civiles en la reciente guerra de Kosovo, en cumplimiento de objetivos, muy diferentes a los tan cacareados "derechos Humanos". Referido al caso de Afganistán. Es de recordar que Estados Unidos y su aliado en la zona Pakistán, armaron y potenciaron a los talibanes mientras les sirvieron en su guerra contra las milicias progresistas (no integristas) de Afganistán, a las que consideraban, sin embargo, contrarias a sus intereses geoestratégicos. Pero, Oh cielos, ¿será que los intereses geoestratégicos de EE.UU.-con la aquiescencia fría de los demás- son los que marcan el señalamiento de los atentados contra los derechos humanos? Afganistán, China... Y ¿Qué hay de la pena de muerte en EE.UU.? o del bombardeo de objetivos civiles en Kosovo? Los derechos de las mujeres de Afganistán están siendo violados, sin duda. Pero no se solucionarán con nuevas políticas de ingerencia de una "comunidad internacional" que no se democratice.
