Cuándo Marx estudiaba los procesos del capital, no estaba estudiando su actualidad, su ahora? Bloch, Fevre, Braudel, Aries, Vovelle, por mencionar algunos de los nombres mas cercanos y conocidos de Annales, al estudiar la Edad Media, las circuitos económicos, las estructuras materiales y la sicohistoria, no estaban estudiando la infraestructura de la sociedad en la cual vivía. No es la historia un cuestionarse de porqué el mundo en el cual vivó es como es.

¿Por qué no hablar de Chavez, Fidel, Irak, Corea de Sur, la globalización, las estructuras de parentescos que dominan nuestros países, o las lealtades societales y aristocráticas que hacen posible la existencia de sectores privilegiados en la áreas de comunicación de masas, universidades, editoriales, y otros ámbitos del saber.
