Many of them have had to leave the country, others found the death and the pluses, have been put under silence. In the last years, the registry of our recent tragedies has been into the hands of the novelists, who, with greater or smaller degree of success and to where it allows the sort it, they have left in his works, elements that of some way will establish the coordinates to weave very complex the half-framed one of our present. Worthy of mention in this sense they are the novels the dark fiancèe, of Laura Restrepo; The virgin of the sicarios, Fernando Vallejo; the recent Commander paraiso, of Gustavo gardeazábal Alvarez and the skillful chronicle the News of a kidnapping, of Garci'a Márquez. It is necessary to limit, and from it could here arise another debate, that our historians, with luminous exceptions have circumscribed their work to the university scope and what the great public knows our history must to the novelists partly; it is a truth of perogrullo that our better and more revealing text of history is "One hundred years of Solitude". He is worrisome, beside the point, the analysis poverty on our reality on the part of mass media, mainly the writings, dedicated, in its majority, to the political proselitismo, or what is worse, to the banalización of the news. La degradación del conflicto armado colombiano y el sistemático irrespeto a las libertades humanas, la de expresión del pensamiento entre ellas, por parte de los actores de la guerra, ha impedido que nuestra historia reciente se convierta en objeto de estudio por parte de historiadores e investigadores sociales. Muchos de ellos han debido abandonar el país, otros encontraron la muerte y los más, han sido sometidos al silencio. En los últimos años, el registro de nuestras recientes tragedias ha estado en manos de los novelistas, quienes, con mayor o menor grado de acierto y hasta donde lo permite el género, han dejado en sus obras, elementos que de algún modo establecerán las coordenadas para tejer el complejísimo entramado de nuestro presente. Dignas de mención en este sentido son las novelas La novia oscura, de Laura Restrepo; La virgen de los sicarios, de Fernando Vallejo; la reciente Comandante paraiso, de Gustavo Alvarez gardeazábal y la magistral crónica Noticia de un secuestro, de García Márquez. Es necesario acotar, y a partir de aquí podría surgir otro debate, que nuestros historiadores, con luminosas excepciones han circunscrito su trabajo al ámbito universitario y lo que el gran público conoce de nuestra historia se debe en parte a los novelistas; es una verdad de perogrullo que nuestro mejor y más revelador texto de historia es "Cien años de Soledad". Es preocupante, por demás, la pobreza de análisis sobre nuestra realidad por parte de los medios de comunicación, principalmente los escritos, dedicados, en su mayoría, al proselitismo político, o lo que es peor, a la banalización de la noticia. Así las cosas, el registro escrito de nuestra realidad actual hará difícil la tarea de quienes en el futuro historien nuestro presente. Claro, que tambén hay qué entender que las violencias y todas las formas sutiles y manifiestas de censura han acorralado a la información. Gustavo A. Zapata R.
